10 oz. E-micro Gold Futures Contracts from CME Group

With one-tenth the size of the standard 100 oz. COMEX Gold futures contract, one-tenth the margin rate and lower trading fees, E-micro Gold futures from CME Group are a more affordable way for individual investors to access the gold market.

• E-micro Gold futures offer incremental access to ownership of a 100 oz. bar of gold. The contracts are physically settled, but does not allow for delivery of a 10 oz. gold bar. When an investor takes delivery of the E-micro Gold futures contract, they receive an Accumulated Certificate of Exchange (“ACE”) which represents 10% ownership in a 100 oz. gold bar held in the form of a COMEX gold warrant. Investors may accumulate ten ACEs and take delivery of a 100 oz. COMEX gold warrant through a conversion process.
